With such an increase in the ability to share and collaborate, we need to ask fundamental questions about how we assess the quality of that which we have access to.
This raises big questions for the future of education in Scotland – after all, how do you inspect a virtual learning space?
Glow is already being used for meaningful dialogue between pupils and teachers related to their learning, but how do we assess the quality of resources being shared amongst users?
We could learn from the best in the realm of enterprise – Ebay introduced as star rating system for users to pass comment on the trustworthiness of those they interacted with – is this something that would be of benefit in our online work in the future for users? How far removed from the process of formative assessment is this?
