The standards… Articulate a baseline of knowledge necessary for students to successfully participate in college and function in the modern workplace Represent the next step in aligning public and higher education curriculum Reduce the need for remedial education for recent high school graduates

*College-readiness measures using special purpose questions are in current statute. The embedding of the special purpose questions in the EOC assessments will require a statutory change. ** English I is not considered an advanced high school course. However, performance in English I may be used to indicate readiness for English II.
