Because JSTOR is a collection of multiple journals, one way to narrow a search by limiting the disciplines you wish to include.
JSTOR has tutorials and other tips and help files to assist you in your searches.
When you search, the “hit” results will show you how many documents were found and give you an option of modifying and sorting your search. This is useful because JSTOR can search not only full-text articles, but abstracts and book reviews.
When you click on the title of an article, it will open and allow you to read online. You can also click to view the entire journal where the article was found. If you want to browse through your search results by article, you can also click on the link for the next or previous result.
You can also download the document information as a citation or the entire article as a PDF.
