Part 1: Lynpea (in South Africa) Part 2: Kenny (in Canada) Part 3: Benjamin H. Tomas N.and Juan G. in Argentina The Mixup! A collaborative story between three countries
Part 1: Please can I have a puppy, Dad?
"I have always wanted a puppy!" I begged my dad when we were in the pet shop. My dad said a definite no! I told him that there were some really cute new-born puppies right over there in the corner. He said, "Look Sarah, no means no!"
I said pleadingly, "But PLEASE daddy!" My Dad just looked away with disinterest. I looked longingly at the puppies in the corner and they looked back at me as if to say, “Come and adopt me, Sarah!“ I wanted to say "I'm sorry, my Dad won't let me!“ I knew how ever hard I tried they would never answer me. Oh, I really wanted one so badly!
Part 2: The mysterious voice
"I can hear you, Sarah...,“ a little voice said. "Who said that!?" I yelled, looking around. "Me..." the voice answered. "Where are you?" I asked, confused "Turn around..." the voice said. I turned around and saw nothing but the cage where the puppies were. They were all staring at me. "I don't see you..." "I am right in front of you..."
I looked straight ahead and then down and saw a really cute puppy looking right up at me, adoringly. "Now you see me, right?..." “Bu.u.u...but, you are a puppy!" I said, with disbelief. "Yes... I know... please adopt me...please." "I...I would, but my dad won't let me..." I said still not believing that this was actually happening.
"That does not matter...you must take me...please.." "Yes, it DOES matter, and why should I take you? I asked. "Because I will get badly hurt if you don't" the little dog said quickly. “What...how would you get hurt?!" I said. "Okay, I won't actually get hurt, but I need someone to love me and care for me, pleas.s.s.se," the dog said in a very serious tone. "Okay!, fine I will take you with me, but you must be quiet, okay?" I said. I slipped the little puppy into my pocket. I felt so bad about not paying for it.
The puppy made a hole in my pocket, and then came out and said, "I don't want to go in your pocket! I want to go in your school bag!“ "OK but don't chew anything.“ "OK!“ said the dog.
Part 3: Confusion sets in
Now let’s hear what Dad has to say! After leaving the pet shop with the puppy I had bought for Sarah I stopped at another shop at the corner near the school, and bought dog food. The dog was crazy for the food, as if he had not eaten for one month. I put some food in my hand and he almost finished eating my finger. By the time I saw Sarah walking through the street, after her class had finished, I wanted to make a surprise of the puppy to Sarah. I knew she would be so happy when she knew that I bought her the puppy when she so badly wanted one.
She passed me by and said, “What are you hiding dad?” “Nothing…” “What’s going on out there?” said the dog in Dad’s pocket. “What was that dad!?!?” “Nothing, nothing. I am getting a cough.” “Ok, see you at home. Bye, Dad.” “Bye.” I was surprised that Sarah was walking so fast. I would have to show her the puppy at home.
Sarah walked fast. She wanted to get home and hide the puppy from her dad somehow. She didn’t know how she was going to break the news about her new puppy! THE END
