Tinkering School Presented by Gever Tulley
What is it? Tinkering school allows kids to work with their hands. Students are provided with hammers, power tools. We even give them wood, nails, rope, wheels, and very dangerous tools. Kids start by drawing their ideas.
Our Goal To help students leave with a better sense of how to make things before they arrived. The Tinkering School is a 6 day experience NO CURRICULUM OR TESTS
Why do we do this? We believe that success is in the doing and that problems become puzzles and when things don’t work comes creation.
What did they build? The things they build AMAZE themselves Motorcycle Boat rollercoaster

Summary: I took the content from Gever Tulley's fantastic TED presentation on his Tinkering School and turned it into a really bad PowerPoint. Gever used passion, real images and an amazing video of his student riding a homemade roller coaster to inspire his audience during his 4 minute speech. But he easily could have taken his same content and created something similar to what I have done here. As a presenter, when you have images and videos of the content you are presenting, use it, abuse it. Now is not the time be bashful or too embarrassed to show off your work. No one remembers a slide full of text or bullet points, images and video will move your audience to action, if you have them, use them.
