The Bush Trail A two-nation collaborative story Part 1 by Jamhar, Hanfir, Kimsad and Samkni (in South Africa) Part 2 by Joaquin S., Marquin S. Marcos and Benja L (in Argentina)
Part 1: Our journey starts
Before heading out on the bush trail, we bought lots of supplies. Now we could start our journey. We made a slow start. It was tiring but also a little bit of fun when we stopped at a hut to rest. Then the other Bush trail caught up with us. and we had to leave and carry on with our journey. We travelled on and on and on.
After a long while we stopped because we saw a leopard and we had to keep still. We kept very, very still and the leopard eventually left us alone. Whew that was a scare. We carried on with our long journey.
"I'm hungry. Let's eat," said Mommy's voice. "Sure. Good idea." They finished eating and camped in the tents for the night.
During the night the two girls went out of the tent and then they saw a lion..... They were very scared. They rushed to their Mommy and Daddy's tent. Then Mommy and Daddy said, "Why are you girls outside at this time of night in the dark? You know that you must not go outside at this time. There are all kinds of wild animals here.
Part 2: We make some new friends
We woke up early to continue our journey. We packed everything and started walking. While we walked we told stories, chatted, and sang songs, it was fun!! Until we saw the sky turning black… a storm was coming towards us. We needed to camp as soon as possible. While we were looking for the right place, we saw another family and we joined them. They were very nice people. We decided to camp together and wait until the storm passed.
We made a little fire and we started to make jokes, they were very funny. When the storm finished we continued our journey. The family came with us.
Nearly four hours had gone by since the storm finished and we were very tired, so we decided to stop in a little house that was at the top of one hill. The owner of the house said that we could drink something and rest for a while, then we had to continue the journey.
Next morning, we thanked the owner of the house and kept on with our journey until we found a fountain, there was a sign next to it that said; THE MAGIC FOUNTAIN where one could ask for the wish that you wanted. You had to put a coin and the wish that you had asked for will come true. We were five friends, each one of us put a coin inside the fountain. We asked an all-together wish to finally finish our journey and finally be in our friends' house; but we went on without any hope that our wish would come true, it was nearly night, so we went to a place where we could lie down on a bed.
The next morning we woke up, but we were in our friends' house, the wish had come true. We were very happy to be there, especially to be with our friends. This was the best day of our lives. THE END
